RepRap |
The RepRap Team is a new addition to UTRA the 2010-2011 year! RepRap is an open source Do-It-Yourself (DIY) 3D printer designed for low cost prototyping and modelling. We are seeking students interested in DIY 3D printing. No prior hardware or programming experience is required. As a member of the team you will gain hands-on experience working on a RepRap Mendel. This is a great opportunity for people interested in building a 3D printer from scratch. You will acquire skills and knowledge to help you get started on building your own! Wiki: Video:

RepRap is a desktop 3D printer capable of printing plastic objects. Since many parts of RepRap are made from plastic and RepRap can print those parts, RepRap can be considered a self-replicating machine. UTRA has built two models of RepRap, "Darwin" and "Mendel", and we are currently working on fine-tuning the Mendel model.
